Diagnostic Mammography
Pink Door Imaging offers diagnostic mammography exam. This exam further assesses an abnormality discovery. Abnormalities detected from a screening mammogram, breast symptom or an abnormal clinical exam.
Diagnostic exam appointments are generally available within 1-2 business days. All exams are under the supervision of Dr. Shetty or his associate. Your exam results are available in most instances afterward. The results will be e-faxed to the referring doctor or Breast surgeon.
For patients requiring a biopsy or surgical consult, Dr. Shetty and his staff will as a courtesy assist further. Helping in setting up a biopsy or surgical/oncologic consultation. Our staff and doctors will be available to answer questions about post imaging follow up. We will also strive to be there for the patient throughout their care.
Breast Imaging Exams
WHAT TO EXPECT
Diagnostic mammography is a supervised imaging of the breast. This mammogram produces specialized views of the breast the doctor needs for further assessment. As a result, they give doctors more insight into breast symptoms, an abnormal mammogram or an abnormal clinical exam. An ultrasound of the breast is often performed in conjunction with a diagnostic mammogram. Dr. Shetty or his associate will spend time with the patient and discuss the results following the exam. Dr. Shetty may recommend additional breast imaging exams or biopsy that may help reach a final diagnosis.
Diagnostic Mammography Indications:
- Breast pain
- Breast Lump
- Nipple discharge
- Skin or nipple changes
- Abnormal mammogram
